I Am Me is a community charity that works in partnership with Police Scotland to raise awareness of and tackle disability hate crime. You’ll have seen their ‘Safe Space’ stickers in the windows of shops and offices across Renfrewshire and now beyond.

Disability Hate Crime is one of the most under reported crimes in the UK, with an estimated 97% going unreported. There are 1 million people in Scotland registered as disabled or with a long term illness. Many incidents go unreported as disabled people accept abuse and harassment as part of daily life.

iamme-accessibility2Kuka Studios started off by getting our office registered as a ‘Safe Space’, but then we became the lucky developers of the I Am Me Scotland website.

The website is designed to be accessible to as many different types of disabled user as possible. If you click the ‘help’ icon in the top right you see this menu, and you can choose from a range of different options to make the website even easier to use. Kuka Studios has previously won two ‘Website of the Year’ awards for accessible websites for charities. It’s something we’re passionate about and something we enjoy.

“‘We are delighted with our dynamic new website.” says Megan from the charity. “We worked with Kuka to design a website with fantastic accessibility options, ease of use with minimal clicks, strong branding, and lots of bright colours. We have received many compliments on the design and look of our new website, and we cannot recommend Kuko Studios enough for all their hard work. The aftercare and advice provided from the team at Kuka has been second to none and we’re so grateful for all their dedication to our Charity.”
